If you watched the Prime mini series you missed most of the story and the characters. If you liked it then do not read the book. Some many changes were made for the show. After two episodes I gave up and stayed with the book. It is a hard read but so far worth it.

Two kidnapping tales. First is finished and the young boy is like the 'Ransom of Red Chief'. He takes charge, gets the kidnapper to follow his desire to see a Disneyland type amusement park. And with his mother hot on the trail gets the best of the bad guys.

Boring.

Not really dealing with this book yet. After over a month the previous book is finally available thru interlibrary loan. That will end the long story that has run through all the books so far and then I can read this one. Always a pain when the library has most of a series but not a middle book in a continuing series.

A slow read. lots of wasted details as far as I am concerned. Do not remember so many chapters of asides, background history and general society news from the Musketeer and other books set in this era.
