This book suffers immensely from Whedonisms, a.k.a. everyone being quippy all the damn time in the exact same way. It wouldn't bother me if it was just the MC and hero doing it, but it's EVERYONE.

(Also, maybe I'm a grouch, but the conversation between the heroine and her parents was grating beyond belief. And I say that as someone who likes Broadway shows.)

This does feel a little dated; I don't know of many teens who wear Axe body spray anymore, or go to parties with alcohol present.
