Reading again cause I’m lost with the Silver Flames book. It’s been years since I read this series.

Is it just me or is Jane just… awful? 🤣🤣 I don’t like her at all.

Yuck. Trying to make sexual assault sexy is waaaaay too gross… sooo… I’m about to put this one down if this is how it’s going to go.

Ugh. Didn’t like this at all. I gave up after chapter 8 or so. It was tough enough just to get to it. This story was just not for me.

I read this book originally back in the late 90s of very early 2000s. I was obsessed with it. It was my first sort of sci-fi romantic novel. This was the beginning of my interest in this kind of story.

Terrible narrator on the audiobook. Making this kinda messed up story that much more… messed up.

Wow. There’s a lot of weird disturbing stuff going on here.

I don’t think I will finish this one. This was kind of a mess. Nothing likable about anyone or anything.

Yeesh! Ok… I’m starting to understand why this one is available on my Audible Plus list. I don’t think I will be moving on to the next one.

Sigh…. This book has more pointless sex in it than 50 shades pf grey and that’s saying something. Trying to get though it. Not sure I even know what the plot is.

Sigh…. I don’t like Dane and Laney enough to stomach this whole book. Not sure why anyone thinks they are appealing. Dane is always so condescending to Whitley and after we’ve learned their back story, unless I missed something, I can’t understand why. And Laney is just annoying all around. Guess I’ll be doing a lot of skipping ahead.

Wow…. I don’t like any of these characters. 🤣 Everyone is a mental mess. Hope it gets better.

Whew! This is a lot of book! 🤣 But I’m enjoying it. Enjoying seeing how Jenny is now with the family again. Loving seeing how Jamie and Claire are as they age, still cute but maybe not at amorous. And Claire and her “power” has me wondering a lot of things about the future. Interesting to read about how William is dealing with his knowledge about his bio dad and Lord John. So many layers!

Wow. Loving this book. I’m so used to reading chicklit that I forget books like this can be so fascinating. I’ll catch the movie after I finish this read. The weirdest and most endearing part is that this man is always mere moments from death (realistically) yet he is so determined and, mostly, optimistic. Makes me feel silly about my earthly issues.

This woman is exhausting...

Had to go back and reread Artful Lies before getting into this one. Great book. This one is very good, so far, as well. Pretty heavy on the angst. Sometimes I get frustrated with the heroine and all the shit she’s willing to tolerate from the guy. He’s a lot to take. But the writing and the story are fabulous.

Rape scene is pretty tone deaf.... ugh...

I’m liking this series simply because it’s easy reading and the author writes sex scenes pretty well. But I am noticing a pattern of her using the same exact tropes from book to book. The fierce protective streak from the men. The tats and piercings. The “I like rough sex” thing. Eventually, this is going to get boring, but not yet.

I hate dumb heroines. I know it’s a lazy plot device to have a character misunderstand something that happens with a significant other and then there’s a period where they almost break up, but I hate it. Ugh!

Holy smokes, these people are all over the map. Nobody is consistent with their thoughts, feelings or emotions. I wanna rewrite so many part of this book because it could’ve been done so much better.

Welp. So far, not so good. Is Gena the dumbest heroine ever? Possibly.
