Noo, this started out really good but now it's just turned into a full-on romance novel. Wish it would have stayed with the PTSD/paranormal aspect more.

Well kids it seems like the world-building/bombardment of 80's references has died down a bit and the actual story is finally beginning.

These first few chapters have consisted mainly of world-building and endless explanations. Information is not folded seamlessly into the story, but it is very blatant and is told from a (so far) insipid narrator. There are also a ton of references from the 80's that I wasn't prepared for, but we will see where this goes nonetheless.

This is pretty much how the book reads: "you know what's interesting? THIS. Now you can go google it bye." Some really interesting topics are being raised, but that's all that they are - topics. The execution is fleeting. Radin keeps raising all these different points without going into further detail about them.

An entire chapter based on (vague) premonitions of 9/11, but not much tangible evidence yet to defend the validity of psi.

This really fell apart after the first 3 chapters IMO. Instead of focusing on world-building and the plot, the emphasis is on an emerging love triangle.
