Hearing the word transvestite in a book from 2003 feels icky. Do better.

The audiobook narraters are just awful! They both sound like robotic TikTok voices. And I’m already over hearing “fentanyl” mispronounced every.single.time.

The story is really good though so I wanna keep going 😁

I’ve had to stop and look up the meanings of words much more than any of her other books

I love when I have NRE with a book. I didn’t even know this book existed and now I want to pause everything ends in life until it’s finished.

I had no idea going into this that the book is about a friend of a friend! The men I met from Combatants for Peace left a huge impression on me and their stories are very emotional.

Page 30 and there’s already 27 characters. And some ppl wonder why I have to keep notecards when I read 😬

I would love to see this presented to high school students and hear their thoughts. I’m finding myself laughing, being disgusted, and feeling sad simultaneously at every page.

Reading this for the third time

I LOVED The Circle. So excited to get this on the day it’s released!!!

The only book I’ve ever got to the end and immediately needed to read it a second time. It’s that good.

I read this years ago and feel like reading it again 🙂

The story just wrapped up pretty well, so I’m not sure why it’s not done now.

So far there’s been 30 characters introduced. Even though I fill out notecards as I go along this is becoming a bit much.

If I were the type of person to walk away from an unfinished book, this would be the book 😴

The perspective of the white supremacist is hard for me to stomach, and I guess that means it’s well-written. So far my only issue with the plot is that when the white parents tell the hospital they don’t want black staff to touch their child, the hospital doesn’t tell them to fuck right off. Accommodating their immoral and (I’m thinking) illegal request is utter bullshit imo.

The story is pretty good but the voice actor for the little girl is the worst!
