the way i'm ... maybe a quarter into this book and went ahead and preordered the follow up

so excited to start this book 🥰

really trying here but i'm just kind of stuck on the fact that this book is lauded as being so diverse but there's ... not a single black woman???? very baffling to me.

I'm confused. I really do not see the hype. The prose is fine.

But the actual plot line? Meh. The chemistry between the hero and heroine ? ... okay. It feels like the book is trying to talk about SO many things but i don't know if it does that well. The most interesting thing is Eva's family history.

Trying to hang on to see what the hype is about but ... very close to DNF pile.

rereading my fave ccj series to get out of a little reading slump.
