Should I try to act surprised when it’s “revealed” that Saeris is the descendant of Fae royalty?

So far I’m getting Arrakis climate, with Panem politics, and Basgiath language.
This is not a complaint.

This is exactly what I was hoping it would be.

This narrator is good.

Hm. Well. So far, I’m thinking this book will have good fodder for snark. But I’m intrigued as well.
Here’s a thing: when an author is writing from the perspective of a creep, and that creep is thinking slimy things, I get disgusted and indignant. But, it’s character development . . . but I don’t enjoy it . . .
