Second book down, one to go... The writing isn't the worst I've read this year, but it's also pretty bland when it's not actively trying to be clever and/or incendiary. Still envisioning a young Anthony Quinn as Hagbard Celine.

Re-reading, because I want to read the second book but can't really remember the first book. It's all coming back to me, though (cue Celine Dion ear-worm).
