NYT reviewed. I’m sure it’s a good book and I really liked the half I read. Had to put it down and read The Bell by Iris Murdoch for bookgroup. Should have stuck with the Paper Palace

Hiking book group pick. I did not finish performed by the Bishop, and then taken over a causeway across the lake to be installed in the Abbey.

As the new bell is being carried across the causeway for its ceremonial entrance into the Abbey, it falls into the lake. It is later discovered that the causeway has been sabotaged, and Nick is suspected. Catherine runs away and tries to drown herself in

Listening to it but it doesn’t hold me while driving. I Don’t doubt she’s a good writer but I’m moving on to another book to listen to.

Stopped listening. Wasn’t compelling. Too bad
