This has been such a slog to get through. I’m not sure, if the story is dragging because the romance is too inyourface constantly, or if the truly awful narration is to blame. Probably a combination of both. I’m returning the audiobook at this point and picking up my physical copy to see if things improve without the raspy, screechy narration.

How am I only halfway through? Some thoughts:

1.) I hate Peter more than I have ever hated anyone and I’d relish his slow and painful demise. I hope Alice offs him and gets away with it.

2.) This book is a brutal reminder how awful men are to us, historically.

3.) I think I know what happened to Bear, and I have a theory on Barbara.

4.) I hate Peter with every ounce of rage I felt for Dolores Umbridge.

At this point, I’m frustrated that our three main characters all sound the same. The banter is … twee.
