This book is annoying me. I've read some great history books lately which have managed to be entertaining + clear. This book takes a similar approach to the one about Germany, picking different stories from the chosen countries history and trying to cobble together a narrative. But the writing is so hard to follow!!! Too few dates, too many undefined french terms, too little cohesion between topics. Annoying!!!!!

Så intressant: Visst har skolundersökningarna visat att droganvändning har sjunkit, och detta har varit en stor tool för politikerna att visa att dne nuvarande tekniken funkar. Men tanken bakom detta är baserad på gateway teorin, att man blir droganvändare genom att starta som ungdom. Om ingen testar knark i skolåldern finns inga knarkare i Sverige alltså.

Really good. I enjoyed all the characters. The thread of the story was really well done, and the story was great. You could feel their pain and their wonder.
