Hard to read while I'm preparing for Neurosurgery on December 19, close to home, too true. Yet some good doctors out there, despite all the tangles and errors and so bad it's funny.

Top of TBR stack while preparing for 4th craniotomy. Adult survivor of pediatric cancer (ALL) with 2ndary tumor (brain), survives by morbid sense of humor. This book nails it (personal equivalent of titanium screw). I'm treated by board certified physicians @ facilities that continue to rebuild, outshine in competition. But same egotism, name calling, incompetence, greed, bureaucracy in/out of hospital. EPIC online.

Delay in update: as Write notes on p. 32, life becomes a waiting game, riding on numbers, "a whole new reality," "possible futures intrude on the present moment."
I've often wondered about my relationship to cancer and words: Wright finds writing the blog "exhilarating" (p.88), yet then finds "it difficult to put into words the emotions I'm feeling." Exactly. Both a story that needs to be told and is beyond words.
