Brian is finished with Super Imperialism: The Origin and Fundamentals of U.S. World Dominance
Intriguing premise, lots of detail and history, but very long, dense, and laborious. Wish there was a "simpel" version that gets to the main points and essential background. Hudson is a wealth of knowledge and it shows, he is all over the place. Basically this book explains how the US has used it's position to enhance itself often at the expense of others, specifically how we used the end of the gold standard and aid

Brian is starting The Underground Railroad
Heard some intriguing things about this one. Excited to try, and should be a nice change from my usuals: Economics, Jonathan Franzen, and "this is so hard why am I doing this to myself" lol

Great, easy read so far highlighting the issues with our "free market" system...that big players in several fields have created very un competitive markets, usually due to buying government influence. Full of examples.

More boring than I thought, lots of good stuff but wish it was a shorter, skeleton version. Intriguing topic though

Not as good as "Freedom" but still over half to go, and that is perhaps too high a bar to set.
