I wanted so badly to finish this book but… it just lost me when it felt like I was just reading a thinly veiled ode to rockstar life but like true life not the glamorized version. Idk it just didn’t click for me I guess.

I don’t think I was ready to read this one. Got about halfway through and just found myself picking up and putting down. Imma yeet this one out the door and come back another time. Maybe.

I tried, I really did. But I just cannot. The characters are so… character-y. Big ol’ DNF

This author is doing too much with what he thinks is quick witty snark. It’s really giving I’m super smart vibes and 🙄🙄🙄

This is foolishness. I checked the pages thinking I have finally read the last of the wind blowing or the dark darking… but no. I’m still 100 away. So yeh. That’s how this is going.

Im in such a book rut. This is like some weird dark academia but like.. ballerinas. And then a dash 50 shades of grey and maybe a thriller mystery under it all? I don’t even know and not in a oh dear I can’t wait to figure it out kind of I don’t know 😵‍💫

The premise is a good one but dear god. Can we move this show along already? There’s only so many woe is me moments and pages of the deep dark and dastardly weather I can handle.

Honestly this is dragging on but this page literally made me say w.t.a.f so I guess I’ll keep reading for a bit longer 🙄

Im nearly halfway through this and still feel like I really don’t have an understanding of wtf is happening. Also, that was such an awkward way to write yourself into the book, my dude 🤦🏻‍♀️

I want to like this… but the pacing is just off.

I think I’m just trying to get to the end. It’s getting awfully wordy and nothing happen-y

I want to keep reading this because the premise is interesting but the lack of context to explain why a 32 year old woman is so easily being controlled by her father is really starting to get in the way of me being fully invested.

The pacing of this book really caught its stride quickly. I’m hoping the ending rounds this out to a solid 4 ⭐️ at least. It’s been too long since I’ve read a book I’ve felt more than meh about 🤞🏼

I am in a horrible rut. The third DNF this month!

I rarely feel as if characters are “one dimensional” but damn. This book is the perfect example of it. There’s random holy rollers, a motorcycle gang (??), “Wiccan” symbols, a narrator in her twenties obsessed with twilight and some “fair skinned” guy named Everett but oh so sweetly called Ever? 😩 and a murder or seven idk.

Yikes. This one is pretty damn painful so far. I’m hoping to have something to change up or the writing to even out soon because otherwise… DNF.

Im really struggling through this and might need to come back to it because … apples just ain’t that interesting for this long.

Imma need this to speed it up because I’m losing interest now — it had me in the first 25% but now nothing is actually happening that hasn’t happened already.

Im starting to lose interest…let’s get it back going please 🫠

I think I know why I stopped reading it before; it was likely due to the pacing. It’s quick but not? Which is probably intentional because that’s what life must have felt like. Very the days feel long while the years fly by kinda thing

Also Adah irritates me with her wordplay and Ruth may has me stabby

I was loving this until the last 30 or so pages. Nothing is happening and it’s starting to lose my interest 😣

So.. are we supposed to dislike the main character because uh..

I don’t like a when a sequel has too much recap, but uh there’s no recap and I can’t have no idea wtf is happening
