Feels like reading a John Constantine comic, but I don't like the main character as much. Kadrey owes Gaiman a hell of a nice dinner, but I think Gaiman is probably doing okay, dinner-wise, and won't be upset about it.

It's amazing to me that this book was published in 1988, but parts of it do feel interestingly dated. For one thing, they're sending runners to send messages inside a spaceship.

Arguably, all of these people are faeries, but almost none of these people dislike each other for the reasons real people dislike each other. It's always because they blame someone else for something that could not reasonably be considered their fault.
