Puritan America, among other early settlers of this continent, has a bad rap. This book can help remedy that...not that there aren't conflicts and controversy.

"when you are an Islamist, of any worth, you are a border crosser..."

Okay, this book is challenging me. It's got parts that seem to support Iain McGilchrist views, good. But also seem to look at Western civilization as flawed because "capitalism/private property". Not sure how to judge yet but I've got a way to go still. A lot of agreement but I'm wondering if this is going to be a call for communism, which is abhorrent and not expected.

Quite a cerebral account of God and evil as depicted in literature and film. So far it's excellent for coverage of Dostoyevsky, Neitche, Hitchcock, etc.

halfway through the second reading, really good!

Nero blames the Christians for burning Rome, after he burned it.
