why do these writers start at least half the scenes in this book with the aftermath of the scene they're about to describe so you already know the outcome? it's annoying and makes it way less impactful

So much fatphobia in such a short amount of time. And the writing is so fucking lazy in basically every respect. Very middle school class assignment writing.

The way they treat Ryder in this book is so fetishistic that I am genuinely shocked the author is trans. You can tell the author self-publishes though because they have no idea how the publishing industry works.

I was only 5% in when I’d determined I already despised this book, the writing, and at least one of the main characters. So now this has become a hate read. Not only is there super casual transmisia, but there’s a CONSTANT barrage of misogyny AND the writing is super cringe on top of that. 11% in & the phrase “all up in my kool aid” has been used twice. I’m pretty sure that is a felony.

The writers of this book owe Finian a lifetime supply of free shoulder massages for carrying this entire book by being the only character with an actual, fleshed-out personality.

I wish people would just goddamn say disabled instead of this "differently abled" bullshit. It's not a bad word or a bad thing to be.

I feel like this book is ruining me for all other zombie books, but I’m okay with that.
