"My name is Alba DeTamble and I was born a time traveler. We all are, of course, but most people only travel forward, slowly, creeping along by seconds and minutes that add up inexorably to a lifetime..." 🥹🥹✨

“Why do you read books?” he asked.
“Why do you drink beer?” I replied.
“The good thing about beer,” he said about five minutes later, “is that you piss it all out. Like a one-out, one-on double play, nothing’s left over.”

“If I’m being honest, despite the chaos, this is the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I’ve spent my life reading about and getting lost in fictional worlds of magic and potions and quests. I’m finally on one. Let me live in it for a bit.” ✨

"I think I understand now, Vin, what it is like for you. In a way, we're both knives- both tools. Not for each other, but for this kingdom. This people."

"You. Were. Supposed. To. Save me!!"

"You are a good man, but you've always been an idealist. You've spent time in books and philosophy- I've spent my life fighting politics with the members of the court. You know theories; I know people."

“We don’t belong with them, Vin. We don’t belong in their world. We belong here, in the mists.”
“I belong with those who love me".

“Lord Ruler only knows what she’d do to you if you ever tried to leave her, Elend.” 🖤

Very atmospheric

“This is the part where I should probably do that thing Arland does,” Sean said quietly. “Where he announces that he isn’t a poet, but a humble awkward soldier, and then composes a sonnet on the spot.” 😂🥹

“You didn’t do your homework. This is my domain. Here I own the air you breathe.”
