I'm listening to this one. Bring on the historical fiction with in-depth characters. My heart is already breaking for these three women <3

I'm now fascinated by Mabel. This changed from a so-so read to a very unique character study. I'm particularly enjoying the audio.

Wow. I'm loving this one. All the usual drama with great writing.

I'm enjoying the story a lot more now and am eager to see how it all comes together. The writing itself is delightful. Very creative descriptions.

Hooked by the prologue. I'm not usually a big fan of mother-daughter stories, but this is likely to be an exception.

I can see why this is popular. So far, it's a very gentle book and easy to read. I can't say it's grabbed me just yet.

I was reluctant to read this one because it's known to be sad and tragic. That's true. The Dust Bowl was a catastrophe of gigantic proportions. But this book also has humanity and courage. I'm very glad to be listening to it. Great narration, btw.

Yes, it's sad. VERY sad. But the characterization goes deep. And it's real. The Dust Bowl was beyond tragic.
