Wow, even this one seems to be flying off the shelves. Can a movie adaption be far behind?

Andrea does an amazing voicing (NSFW) of a few male characters in the beginning. Unfortunately they don't appear in the rest of the book.

Ok reread the other two books now this one. The crime plot seems cheesy, but the scifi part is good. It almost feels YA, but she's 26. There's a nice essay in the back about the space program becoming as commonly used as airplanes. I had just watched the movie Apollo 13 too, which concerned the moon, and solving science problems. I wonder how historically accurate Ron Howard's movie was compared to Beautiful Mind.

I wanted more Project Hail Mary so rereading this. I've seen The Martian movie twice too. Uh oh, the crap has hit the fan for Watney.

I’m dragging my feet a little. Where’s my boy Cthulhu? I think I liked Alan Moore’s comic Neonomicon better.

Sherlock Holmes vs Cthulhu. Not a great title. How can he use logic against the antediluvian god? There's a lot of words I don't know, even the English ones. I'm enjoying it though. I'll probably just read the first book in the series.

Jubal sure talks a lot. I have no desire to read the longer version of the book. It seems pretty self-indulgent already.

I’m at a pretty cool part in Stranger in a Strange Land from Michael’s unique point of view, at the bottom of the pool during some drama. You could say he was O.P.

Hmm, none of my goodreads friends like it. Should I dnf it and read a Heinlein juvenile instead? The shorter version is on the Nook app too, and I like that app better than Kobo. It's not really scifi, although I grok has kind of an interesting place in culture history.

Actually reading for the 2nd time (Goodreads lost my review?) after seeing the movie. It's pretty fun, even in the middle of chapters, with lots of jokes and science.

This is actually an alien invasion story, but there's also 2 groups of planets fighting each other. It has many pov characters, and plot threads. I'm listening on spotify, which has a pdf of the character list and planets. I saw the ad on Facebook and took a chance. I get a lot of scifi ads there, but who knows how good they are. I wasn't sure about this at first, but the 2nd half is better. It's partly a romance too

Reading with Sword & Laser. It's got a ton of characters with short common names, and switching back and forth slows down the progression. I'm taking "chapter notes". The ebook doesn't really have chapters, just the major 8 parts. Most parts have numbered sub-parts, but don't appear in the table of contents. Note the kindle iphone/ipad app has the AI features like "talk to this book" disabled for this ebook.

Maybe it's overwritten, but I enjoy it if I enjoy the topic. More Lowenstein, less white porpoises, please. I hope they talk about Tom later, when he's adult and first meeting his wife. Tom goes to Dr. Lowenstein's just to cook for her and her son alone, way before the dinner party. I'm enjoying all the "cut scenes", not in the movie.

Getting to some good stuff from the movie like the dog food and teaching Bernard (that's Barbara Streisand's real son) football. In the book, Tom makes Bernard smile 25 times before they start. Instead of saying "you're going to be happy", he says "you're going to love my ass".

Resuming Kloos' Descent, Palladium Wars 4. The space caption Dunstan is definitely my favorite pov. Answering a com "shipname actual" means the captain is answering. A "bandit" is an enemy craft. A drive cone is an Expanse term?

Tom says now that he's in New York, he feels like he should learn new words. Since he talks like an English teacher already, I feel like he knows enough words. Some of these stories about his family are rather tall tales. I wish there was more of the present day with the beautiful Dr. Lowenstein.

I'm getting a little impatient. It took 100 pages for Durham to hire Maria, which is mentioned on the back cover. Maybe I should have read the original short story.

Loved the Barbara Streisand/Nick Nolte movie. Barbara's son plays her son in the movie. The book is like a 20 hour read, so there's much more abusive family history. The narrator also talks like a writer, and his vocabulary is impressive. The narrator is also constantly joking, which I like.. Wish me luck.

Great prologue. But that just means, we have to wait after that. Of course there's some tech heavy sections. This has a good rep on a scifi discord (Words in Time YouTuber). Wish me luck. It's not too long.

When I don't know what to read, I opt for a reread. As I remember, my favorite part is where the old people ride a space elevator, get a nice fatty breakfast, and then a nice new body. This is my favorite example of transferring a consciousness to a new body. There's plenty of funny lines throughout.

I love the premise of it, but young detectiveJane Austen seems to be making a lot of mistakes... I can finish the reading inside 2 hours, so I might as well. This kindle ebook doesn't have the "ask this book" feature. How can you tell that in advance?

Remembered and loved Martian Odyssey. Could be a Looney Tunes cartoon.

I didn't like John Campbell's Twilight that much.
