This reads like a wattpad story 🫠

Hopefully this book can cleanse my palette from the shit storm of a book I just read (Glow of the everflame)

Unfortunately, she has infuriated me to the point where the romance can’t save how bad this book is 😔 Umm… I’m literally so upset

The female lead makes me feel like a misogynist and it’s such a sickening feeling to have

Couldn't finish :( Its not like the book is bad or anything. I would just rather not sit through pages of the thoughts and mannerisms of yucky men. I'd rather live in ignorance, cause some of the "interviews" and mannerisms of some of the people in this book really unnerved me.

Every time I pick up a book that has to do with slavery, a different kind of rage fills me, but so far so good lol

Unfortunately, I have a enemies to lovers romance itch that needs to be scratched, and this book is not doing that😞 A good read though, I’m really liking this whole regency, period piece thing.

It’s actually going really good so far, buttttt this is usually the point in stories where I put it down cause the authors ruin a really good storyline. Hopefully that isn’t the case for this book, I guess we’ll see.

Ummm, I think uninspiring is the word.

I'm bored, the story is plateauing, its so similar to ACOTAR so far, ummm fingers crossed it gets better :(

It's giving ACOTAR in a really odd way, I think it's just because of the overlap in the lore of faeries

SO WATTPAD CODED LMAOOOOOO. I cannot believe a grown woman wrote this, it's giving teenage fantasies. Just from the way the main character is, "not like other girls" or she's not a, "size 2" and her body is slightly curvier than everyone else, or how she likes to wear sweatpants and oversized t-shirts. the book screams guilty pleasure omg

Good book so far, I know it's a memoir, and the way the author's younger self processes the things around her is so sad :( But so far I'm enjoying it!

Ummm, so far so mid, ayoola is written like a wattpad character unfortunately, and korede is consistently giving woe is me😒 umm, I’m interested to see where the plot goes, and not because of the writing, just purely because the relationship between the sisters is interesting.

Ummm, the book is falling flat. Maybe it's because I just finished reading a more emotionally gripping book before hand, but it's giving boring. Like it was put through chat and you asked it to simplify it and make it easy to understand. Idk, I think I am speaking too soon

I’m dreading the way the book will end, I feel like there is impending doom approaching. Especially since I know how the Biafra war ended, so reading how people are celebrating nd singing about Biafra, knowing full well they are not going to make it

So far so good. The plot is gripping, not what I was expecting from, the reviews I was hearing of this book, but I’m fully engaged!

Nesta irritates me, but she’s the most interesting character, because she’s so complex, and the most realistic I fear. But again I cannot stand Sarah J. Mass smut, I’m literally so uncomfortable omg, cant read it

Reading sarah J. Mass smut makes me uncomfortable. In fact I can’t even read it because I feel so uncomfortable 😬
