WOW THAT ESCALATED SUDDENLY. and then I read past that part. This is not the lesbian adventure story I for some reason had thought it would be. I'm not sure whether I'm disappointed by that (I mean, I really did want that lesbian adventure story).

I picked this up on a whim and am somewhat surprised at how interesting I'm finding it so far. Bitcoin is WAY cooler than I thought! I'm currently fighting an internal battle to not transfer some of my savings into bitcoin...

Something about the prose hits the sweet spot between the old-fashioned manner of speaking and a style of speech I can readily understand. I'm really liking this book so far. I'm also really glad to be reading it on a nook, so I can get word definitions instantly -- for the first time in years, I find myself looking up words I've never heard before. It's great!

I picked this book up again yesterday, and oh man was it nice to dive back into this world. Everything feels so real, so relatable.

OOPS I ACCIDENTALLY MORE THAN HALF THE BOOK. (It's only NOW that they consider Hermione a friend; I hadn't remembered it taking that long)

I'm loving this return to my childhood, and I'm savoring just about every word.

Finally through part two. Shit Just Got Real. hopefully I'll be able to fly through the rest.....?

I skipped ahead and read the 15-page appendix about Newspeak, since that's really dry and I would NOT want to do it after finishing the story. God it was slow going getting through it, but somewhat interesting all the same.

The book has picked up a bit and I'm enjoying it more. I just got to the end of part one. Having just read Animal Farm, it seems to me that the worlds are almost very similar in many ways, just that the characters are different. I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

Oh jeez, this book is longer than I realized. I'm semi-enjoying it -- engrossed, at the very least -- but it's becoming painful how slowly I'm progressing through this page count. I don't know how I managed to get through this book in high school.

I'm a little disappointed by how predictable this story is. I suppose that might say more about human nature than it does about Orwell's writing, but I'm not especially convinced of that either.

I wish I could remember the traits of various historical figures; I can't remember who each character is supposed to allude to.

I have to put this book on hold for a bit because a book club selection needs to take priority. But so far I LOVE this book. I love the so-familiar stirrings of romance between cute smol gays. I both do and don't want the book to progress to the jacket summary parts...

My progress through this book has been slow so far, but I think I'm enjoying it. I wish I knew a bit more about ancient Greek traditions, customs, beliefs, names...... It's been very interesting.

Oh man, I can ALREADY TELL that I'm going to love this book. The writing is GORGEOUS, and I find myself slowing down just to let the words roll across my tongue (so to speak).

One thing I wish had been more obvious is that Cameron is 12 at the start of the book. Here I'd been imagining a giggling 15-year-old, but she's just getting ready to start middle school in these first pages.

Alright, this book has gotten better. I like the MC even if I think she is a bit immature.

Perhaps this will marginally change in the second half of the book even though I've left the part called "The Fairy" and started the part called "The Huntress," but I feel like the male love interest isn't really a love interest. More on that some other time, however.

OH THANK GOD I'M HALFWAY DONE. There are 4 chapters of a different book stuck on at the end, so the progress bar in my ereading app makes it look like I'm not even halfway there.

This book is way more tolerable if I read the terrible lines aloud for my partner to commiserate with me. That being said, now that we've gotten through the night of the concert, maybe it won't be so unbearable.

Yep, still not really enjoying it. At least the romance has finally kicked in.

The book picked up a little once the Wicked Stepmother part began, but I'm still not sure I like it. I'm not even sure I like the protagonist, which is almost never a good thing.

So far this book is just..... BAD. There are so many places where the writing is either inconsistent or redundant. I find myself yelling "I know, get to the point!" every time they have an internal monologue. The characters seem really one-dimensional so far: One is "hot and hates band;" the other is "hot and is in the band." I'll finish the book, but I doubt I'll have fun.

Sadly, I really don't get the feeling I'm gonna like this book. Which is really disappointing, because I'd been looking forward to it for so long.

I'm not super impressed with the most recent (wannabe-climax) arc. Since I'm probably going to finish it tonight, I'll hold off on my complaints until after I've seen the story through to its end.

AND SUDDENLY PLOT

Things got REALLY fast after Chapter 15 or so. I'm off to read some more!

WHOOOOOOPS, I did not realize I'd read so much of this book until I figured it out as a percentage. Reading Felicia's telling of her life is like watching her become the woman I know of today. It's marvelous. I highly recommend this book to anybody, but especially to gamers. You will see yourself in her, I pretty much guarantee it.

There was a lot of exposition at first, and seeing a pronunciation guide before the story even started made me a bit wary at first. But this story is interesting, and the hints of foreshadowing throughout the first 14 chapters have kept me wanting more.
