This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year however I’m finding the writing a bit off? Some commas are not present where they should and give a different unintended meaning to sentences, also it’s kind of written as if the reader is stupid? For example:“When the flashlight fell, it landed almost noiselessly in sand.This fact—that the flashlight, in falling, landed almost noiselessly in sand”… like seriously

Listening to the audiobook and it sounds both pompous/ posh and relaxing at the same time.

I hope it won’t make me bawl my eyes out too much.
