Essential to a full understanding of War and Peace is having a good, strong knowledge base of Russian or European history for the time the story is set, so as to give the complex plot and characters context but like, srsly, you won't be a better person for having read it without the prior knowledge; in fact, I sincerely hope to finish it someday. Lol.

Just started and am ready to be disturbed!

Pretty much just started, but seems good so far.

Got about halfway through this book a few years ago before losing interest. Picking it up again to see if I can finish it.

I was enjoying it until I realized it was heading in the fluffy love story direction. Nothing wrong with romance novels but I was expecting something more...wilderness-y and less "I'm a weak female who needs a big, strong man to save me."- type of book. Oh well. That's what you get in cracker jacks when you buy a book for the interesting title. Probably not going to finish it, though.

This book is so cool and clever and I love it already! No wonder entertainment giants such as Disney and Dreamworks have plucked stories from straight out of it. I highly recommend The Arabian Nights for anyone looking for tales that are nothing short of magical.

Reluctant to finish this book.
