I just finished Martha Mabey's excellent book THE LAST DOCTOR IN AMERICA and gave it 5 stars. Her exploration of what makes her doctor, George Meyerhoff, a truly great physician is a highly readable account of one very special doctor and the influences at work in modern medical practice that make doctors of his type increasingly rare.
