So I positively hated whiny Feyr, but kept going as everyone told me how much better than the first book this one was (which I really liked).
So chapter 10 is when I finally stopped hating her and I am hooked again.

Meh. The blurb was appealing, but I just can't get into the story. The author is just trying to hard to show that he did his homework.
And then I get to this : "[...]because every pirate must have a colorful moniker...Except those who don't." what ? what ?
I'll force myself to page 50 and see how it goes from there.

Having excruciatingly too little time to read lately, but I'm very much in love with this book. The writing, the universe... It might very well make it to my Top 10 list <3

*spoilers*

This book is one hell of a page turner.
Since i've had a phone i've felt guilty for reading less. Well today i've found myself wanting to play mindless games, but i just *had* to read one more page first. Now my bf is yelling it's 1am and it's about time I get to bed!...

the story is promising, and 15 years ago I would probably have devoured it.
But today, the story did not enthrall me, and the book has been sitting on my nightstand for over 6 months, waiting for me to have nothing better to read.

12/06/19: I have officially given up. As I move out of my flat, I'm giving the book away.

Still liking the writing.
The story is good. No hole in the plot. Characters aren't stupid. I was worried about the romance part as I easily get put off by instalove, but nothing like that here. I keep reading, eager to know what happens next.

I've been asked to review this book, so for once I'm doing it seriously, even putting the mightly Dresden on pause for it.

I'll start with the writing as always : it's pretty good. Not perfect, but again I have very high standards, and to be honest I had mediocre expectations (don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you). So I was nicely surprised by her flowing plume.

As for the plot, you'll have to wait ! mouhahah

End of chapter two. French edition. Is someone messing with me? What is the writing? I truly hope it's because the translation was done by Google Traduction. The story might have potial. I will give the book a second and last try tomorrow.

So I was just a bit skeptical when I got the book; though I liked watching The Handmade's tale, it's not really my usual read. Still I trust gifts, and opened it. First impression : well written. Book accepted, I can go on.
First novel : Alphinland. 5 stars

So page 376 is when they finally stop talking about sex and start towards business.
Still, there is a lot of mushiness and kisses parasiting the big bad vampire hunt. Will keep you updated...
