Jaenelle Saetien is so playing with fire. I get not wanting to be compared to someone else - feeling not good enough is horrible - but to ignore basic courtesies? And how you dress is not a reflection of who you are.

This is a very big book! And the print is smaller than usual. One page at a time 😁

So good! I’m loving all the twists!

And the twists keep coming! (And why do I think the things found in the storage locker will come up again?)

Still very much enjoying this book. I’m loving seeing how Charles and Brother Wolf interact. I’m also enjoying that Tag is with them: I really like ensemble cast books ☺️

Leah’s backstory is very intriguing. We met her mostly via Mercy’s POV and a little bit via Anna’s. I think Mercy, not knowing the full story, gave us a biased view of Leah. There is a LOT more beneath the surface…

So I’ve borrowed the book from the library AGAIN (probably the SEVENTH time 🤭) but progress has been made. And I’m feeling good while reading! 🤞 this continues as I do so love Charles & Anna ☺️

Katz’s backstory broke my heart. Sometimes humans suck!

Kaz is such a contradiction - it’s fascinating!

I’m calling it - I’m enjoying this book far more than the Shadow & Bone trilogy.

And hello Nina! Another good casting in the TV series! I so want the Six of Crows spinoff!

I FINALLY started. (Can one have anticipation anxiety about a book?)

And it’s gooooood! OMG the casting people for the TV series nailed Kaz, Jesper & Inej!!

If you’re sensing a theme you’d be sort of right. This book came free in the library so… 😁

The heroes in this book definitely have ‘two steps forward, one and half steps back and half a step to the side’ luck!

I have to read 90 pages by the end of tomorrow as the book is due back at the library on Monday 😬
