At last, a book that agrees with me on the equations it contains.

That is not quite how cyanide works, and I'm kinda doubtful it wouldn't leave any signs.

By now I'll be surprised if any of these books don't involve anybody who's thunderously terrible at coming up with a non-obvious fake name.

Not sure if I just picked two of Fletcher's books with the same theme in a row or this is shaping up to be a formula.

Really could've gone without the bit on autism in the mercury section. Either that, or less "many people believe" false equivalence and more solid science. It'd also help if the grammar in the last sentence was less wobbly, and if he were a bit stronger on the whole "autism isn't worse than DYING" thing. (Also, how old is this? Autism is way less of an OOOO MYSTERY these days.)

And now narrator sounds like she misses slavery. I'm still gonna finish this because I'm bad at letting books lie, but *why do you have to be like that, book*

Was this before or after Diane Duane's books? The Romulans here are called Rihannsu, which I think first came up in hers, but one of them is named Lucius which... doesn't really match the naming pattern.

I have the sudden wish to see how Twilight would go with Agnes Nitt as the protagonist. I assume the answer is "badly, if you're a vampire".
