This book is incredible. Clear, concise writing that goes straight to the heart of the issues in an understandable way that is at the same time both personal and on a grand scale.

These accounts of women's lived experience during the Holocaust are so vivid, moving and well-written that I feel a deep understanding and connection to the families in the memoirs, though I recognize that no one who hasn't lived through the Holocaust could ever come close to understanding what that was like. These important accounts can help us understand, not only the past, but what we must guard against in future.
