This book makes no sense. The time jumps and morality issues of every single character left me with no choice but to DNF it. I don’t understand the hype or why people call this a classic…

Why is Brady suddenly being written so that he speaks with a southern accent? In every book before that he’s appeared in, this has not happened. Makes him read like an idiot. And I know he’s not. Ugh.

Can we please stop with the sexually charged tail play? It’s skeeving me out. And can Simon just get the stupid thing (and the wings!) removed already? I’m sick of hearing about the struggles he has with them.

Okay, just kidding - they are 13. Still not a realistic fit for me.

Okay, fine they're supposed to be 13, but still... come on. I disliked how quickly Emily turned on Nathan after being befriended by the nobility - that at least rang true for a mid-school girl.

This was a fun listen on Audible, but a little hard to relate to.

I'm pressing pause on this for now. It is so dry and full of details that I'm starting to dread reading it. The details are about things that aren't moving the story along and it's frustrating.

Putting this aside until I've read the first three, now that I've figured out how to download them to my Kindle (wow, was that a pain...)

This book is huge and I want to finish it right now... but I also don't want it to end.
