Of how he could extrapolate all these ideas from a single verse; I have no idea. The most practical and theoretically coherent act to do is to call it a complete nonsense. It seems compelling though, because the act of bulshitting is an intricate art. There, as a literalist, I displayed the loss of adãb to exemplify how a person can be unjust. It feels good. This book just about killed me. I mean it's so phony and all. You can write anything you want, but not phony stories like this. I'd puke by the first page.

Ahmad Boestamam sendiri yang menulis memoir ini, bukan catatan pihak ketiga. Rupa-rupanya banyak penggerak UMNO dan Pas berasal daripada PKMM dan API. Orang hidup zaman Jepun sudah ada kesedaran tentang keadilan sosial.

I read this book two years ago. Then I read The Great Gatsby , watched the movie, and listened to the song Norwegian Wood until I got sick of it. Now it comes in full circle. The Heart of Darkness by Conrad is the inspiration for Gatsby, and Gatsby is the basis for this! Toru Watanabe is Gatsby! Gatsby is Kurtz! And Naoko is the horror! The horror!

2. Kenapa perlu ada neraca moral yang tetap; persoalan ni belum cukup dijawab. Katanya kalau konsep baik dan buruk itu berubah-ubah,manusia akan jadi huru-hara. Padahal bila kahwin gay lulus di US, nampaknya semua bahagia belaka.

Dakwaan bahawa agama sahaja yang boleh jadi timbangan moral yang konsisten ini ada dua masalah; 1. Negara yang menulis perlembagaan sendiri sudah punya neraca moral yang lebih kurang tetap-jika ada pindaan hukum, agama juga banyak pindaan(ijtihad).

Ini bukan apa yang saya cari. Eugene Rogan menulis tentang strategi perang Turki Uthmaniyah. Cerita kemenangan di Gallipoli itu cukup terperinci, penuh catatan peribadi si askar dan gambaran perang yang berdarah.

Tapi mungkin jika yang melawan British dan Anzac di Gallipoli itu Jerman, ceritanya sama sahaja. Tidak ada bahagian buku yang menceritakan karakter Turki itu sebagai negara muslim...

This is a collection of Chomsky's essays and speeches, from 1969-2013 I thought it would be amazing to learn how his thoughts developed in five decades. However I do not understand the realities of the 70s, the context of his earlier writings, and as such I can't make any sense of this. Who the heck is Reinhold Niebuhr anyways??

Reading this humongous book , while fasting, in the middle of summer, is not a sensible thing to do.
