Rita Johnson is starting The Terrible Speed of Mercy: A Spiritual Biography of Flannery O'Connor
"For O'Connor, the real horror was never violence or deformity, but damnation. Horror that awakens a soul to its own danger and prepares it to receive grace is no horror, but a mercy. 'The devil,' she wrote, 'accomplishes a good deal of groundwork that seems to be necessary before grace is effective.'"

Rita Johnson is starting The Nature of the Beast (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #11)
I just started this on audio yesterday. A rough start upon realizing that the narrator has changed because the original guy died. The new narrator is good, but it is very different. Ugh. Here we go.

This book is boring me. The first Gamache book that I've had to force myself to keep listening to.

Note to Self: Do not attempt to listen to massive books on Overdrive unless you are going on a very long road trip. Otherwise, you will not finish the book before it expires and must be deleted from your Overdrive bookshelf. If you attempt to check it out again, you will likely be on a long wait list. In the meantime, you will have forgotten where you are and what you have already heard. K? Thanks.
