Ancillary Justice (Imperial Radch, #1)
I don't read a lot of sci-fi but wanted to stretch a bit. This was weird and also awesome. At first I got lost between the past and present narration but eventually I got a hold of the plot and then it definitely kept my interest.

Entertaining read, fun premise. Maybe a tad predicable. (Also, unpleasant side dish of racial stereotypes around a minor character. It's 2016; can we please not do this?)

I'm enjoying this one more than David Copperfield (there's a plot!) but at times finding it much more difficult. All the legalese makes my eyes glaze over. Dickens is masterful at creating characters who are pompous self-important bores... which sometimes makes me bored reading about them!
