Sometimes all it takes is one line to (potentially) pull you out of a reading slump: “She’d once dated a tax accountant” … “with a penchant for smacking his own balls with a kitchen spatula.” Not what I was expecting when I turned the page.

It’s not you, it’s me. I’m just struggling to find anything I particularly want to read (stress does that to me). I might put this down and re-read some favorites instead. Maybe that’ll get me in back in the reading mood…

I don’t know that I like this. Their interactions so just aren’t doing it for me, and I’m not feeling any chemistry between them.

Not sure how I feel about this so far. Recently (the last year or 2) I’ve started to get turned off (pun intended) when characters get /tingles/ and /feelings/ upon touching fingers when they barely know each other. Due to how varied sexuality can be, I’m sure it’s a me issue… but still pulls me out of a book.

Okay, I’m hooked now.

Honestly, this hasn’t really grabbed me much, but there are still 350 pages left - maybe it’ll pick up soon…
