This is a fast paced book. I am still trying to understand the hierarchy and the significance of the different bees, but it is very interesting so far. Definitely not anything I am used to.

Nevermind… Cameron’s crash out was crazy for a fully grown man to be doing. Holy victim card dude

Need more Marcellus asap! Not as much progress as I hoped in this stretch as I moved across the country for the first time, but hoping to finish this up tomorrow. Potentially unpopular opinion but I do love Cameron and glad he got some closure with Mr Brinks

I love this book it is so easy to just keep soaring through. Needed more from Marcellus in this section, my only complaint

Not as far as I’d hoped but I’m packing to move across the country and still working full time so I guess it’s too be expected. That being said, very good so far and easy to keep track of all the character lines even with putting the book down for days at a time and only reading partial chapters during my breaks. Shoutout Ethan, I hope him and Tova are endgame in Bellingham.

Just finished part 3. My only thought is that Kelly is the og performative male and he drives me crazy

Just finished part 2 and was not as hooked as I was for part 1. Dialogue is still very cringy and I am not very convinced that anybody in this book actually likes each other… will still probably force my way through

Just finished part one. All I am going to say for now is that some of the dialogue is a little tough to get through without cringing (and I am a veteran of Wattpad)

Connell learn how to communicate challenge: impossible edition

Lorraine is the only one in this book with a brain between here ears. I am notoriously a slow reader but am addicted to this book. I hate Connell but can’t stop reading.

Feeling very maternal towards Rocky…very excited to finish this book tomorrow on a screened in porch in the 80 degree weather.

I actually really like how the flashbacks are integrated into this book and I am not sure if that is a controversial opinion or not but it is my truth

Awwww poor Rocky. This book is so good and cute! I am a notoriously slow reader when I am bored of a book and by my standards I’m cruising, which means it must pass my subconscious test.

I usually don’t read this much in one sitting so it must mean I like the book! Very silly and science-y which is good for my undergrad in math heart.

I have one last chapter until I am done. I do not know if I have it in me to continue with the third book, and I certainly know I will not move past the first trilogy. Darrow irritates me more and more with each decision he makes and it just gets to a point where I can’t keep going with it.

The most irritating part of this book and series is that they never let Darrow have one actual victory. Plot twists are fun because they are seldom, but in this book especially it feels like they are expected every chapter. The story is great, but the balance feels odd to me.

Just finished part 2…after not touching the book for almost 2 weeks. It’s an odd dynamic, when I am into it I can’t put it down, but when I am not into it I can’t seem to pick it up. I like how the pace slowed a little after capturing the new ship, but I am doubtful it will last long.

Just finished part 1…my biggest gripe with Red Rising is that it took too long to develop the feelings and world around Darrow, and now my biggest complaint so far is that the feelings and world are coming too fast. Wish we could’ve seen more of Darrow at the Academy to substantiate his feud with Karnus, but maybe that is to come later.
