Rhadopis of Nubia is a considerable, impressive improvement from Khufu's Wisdom. There is still something lacking, though. Tempering expectations for Thebes at War, but I do expect continued improvement.

Khufu's Wisdom is a solid read. Quick, entertaining. It's easy to see some of the ideas germinating that would come through in The Cairo Trilogy, but this is clearly the early works of a great-writer-to-be. I saw several bad reviews pointing out that this wasn't historically accurate, but that's clearly not the point of this type of historical fiction. This modern Egyptian culture through the trappings of antiquity.
