I just finished the section on clothing. It was educational and, at times, humorous. This section definitely made me appreciate denim pants, pantyhose, a daily shampoo and shower, and loose fitting shirts.

Mr. Darcy & The Lady With The Fine Eyes: A Pride & Prejudice Variation
Darcy and Lizzy have cocktails before dinner? There are some modern words and phrases that are jarring in their placement in this Regency setting. At this point I am not inclined to go on as it is too easy to set aside. Maybe later.

I am learning so much about life in Regency England. I'm not rushing through it and am taking notes to use in my own writing. For example, on page 19 it speaks of a carriage taking 38 hours to travel from Chester to London with stops only to change horses. From mapquest.com it shows the mileage as around 195. That's just over 5 miles an hour. The comment was made that the roads were not in good condition at the time.

Mister Darcy's Secret (A Mister Darcy Series Comedic Mystery #3)
This author is fun to read. There are some editing issues that make me stop and re-read sentences until I can insert what should have been. A bit frustrating!
However, matters of Darcy's background are starting to clear and it's feeling less like a James Bond setting. Derby and Squire remain my favorites and I believe they may yet steal the show.

Pride, Prejudice & Secrets
So far there are so many things that I am thoroughly enjoying. The scene where Darcy asked permission of Mr. Bennet to marry his favorite daughter was exceedingly touching. My head is still whirling from Jane's courtship and I feel a tad sorry for Caroline Bingley. Now, that's some writing. I was a bit worried about the wedding night, but... it was NOT explicit. Whew!
