Wow, Book 2 is the least structured romance novel I've read in a decade. I didn't even feel the HFN coming.

I just finished Kian's Hunter. I'm very confused as to how on earth I finished it instead of quitting. Refusing to confide in your significant other is a peeve of mine and normally, I'd be raging at it, but Kian feels so weird and alien that him refusing to talk is just another weird thing instead of a no-no.

I found book 2, Fame and Fortune, weirdly crafted. It felt more like a coming-of-age story rather than a romance. Victor and Andrew felt more like Mattie's found parents with random sex scenes tacked in, rather than a three-way romance. It'd have made more sense if this were a proper Daddies-and-boy romance.

Book 1, Gay for Pay is 3 stars. I enjoyed the porn bits. The aspects of handling filming gay porn as a straight man stood out for me. The emotional aspects didn't connect for me, though. Some things were too repetitive, e.g. Linc's trauma of encountering his ex-bf cheating on him, and others weren't built up well-enough, e.g. Chris's relationships in Alabama.

I didn't like X and Dima's novella. The fun vs angst balance was out of whack.

Israel and Reggie's novella was a bunch of short stories serialized into chapters. They're fun stories, but not a cohesive novella.

I'm a sucker for a romance for a man in heels. Book Four started out slow, what with Quinn going through a multi-day jag of nightmares, panic and anxiety, but things got really engaging after the book caught up with this couple's POV of all the events from the previous books in this series.

Book Three has groveling. I love groveling. But the one being grovelled to should have been dorkier. More dad jokes would have made older Lucky less bland. He's essentially girl in the refrigerator but wasn't killed like Disney's Little Mermaid.

Book Two completed. A more meandering yarn than the first book, but we get to know more characters of this world, like X's ex-husband and the assassin mentioned in book one. Also Renzo's first appearance.

Book 1 was fun. If Romeo and Juliet were heads of their factions instead of the families' trust fund babies.

Book Three was a marvelous roller coaster ride set up by Book One and Two. I am not a fan of the Insane Villain Trope, however. I'm nervous about Book 4.

Wow. Book 2's cliffhanger is extremely evil. Which is a shame when the book was practically 5 stars but for the evil cliff. If this weren't a bundle that cliffhanger would have shoved the book down to zero stars.

Book 1 is 3 stars for fun and entertainment. I like how directly Kade expressed his romantic interest to Ollie. Communication is my jam. There sadly was no groveling and no politicking.

Book 2... had "plague" scenes that hit a little too close to what covid was like when it first went global. So people need to be warned about that. I thoroughly enjoy the idea of a mer-shifter whose current default is living in a casino-sized aquarium and comes out of the aquarium to hang out with land-dwellers. So many romances are of mer-shifters who live on land and merely swim through the sea.

Book 6 was predictable, but delivered a sweet HEA following the expected final battle.

Book 5 was full of torture and anguish. And these characters did not consent to the torture and anguish. I hope we get lots of comfort in book 6 after all this hurt in book 5.

With the title of Betrayal, you can bet that Book 4 ended the way Empire Strikes Back did. Most of the book was practically a cozy fantasy; it was so sweet and happy.

Book 3 was nearly the same as Book 2 in ratings, but more toddler wailing at the council meetings instead of politicking, and the teenage runaway act would have had my eyes rolling if the teenager hadn't been called out for it by fellow teenager. That was amazingly gratifying.

More interesting than book 1 for sure. More politicking and more time out of Riley's college.

Book 1 was barely 3 stars. Mostly because self-flagellating (not literal) isn't my kink.

Book 2.5 was ADORABLE!!!!! 5 stars; not to be missed.

I definitely liked book 2 much more than book 1. Mae writes characters really well, but the plots of these two books are not worthy of the characters. I'm glad I this was not my first foray into Mae's books because she got so much better.

The first bonus story updated us about a character that appeared only at the beginning of the first book: the human MMC's cheating ex. Since I didn't particularly care about the first book, it was difficult to care about the bonus story...

I really should have skipped book 1. Some people might like it, but I didn't.

Kinda has a noir tone to the book, but it also feels really slow. I want to finish this book, but I feel like I need to take a break and switch to a faster/lighter book for a bit.

Book 6 kinda reminds me of Louisa May Alcott's Jo's Boys. It was a very cozy romance, which is completely what Caspar deserves.

Book 5 stars a dragon! I love that he transforms in a cloud of glitter, and he just casually refers to it as dragon dust. Simon and Ryeth bond in mind and spirit long before they meet in person and in body. They're just a lovely, magical couple. I wish there were more dragon babies.
