I'm halfway through this and I can't with the hero...

I know this is enemies-to-lover romance and I expect the sexual tension and whatsoever. BUT, so far, the hero was borderline demeaning. Which was a fun fact because I have read actually read more demeaning than a colleagues as rivals settings.

Sooo, apparently, it's Miles' time to shine. And when I say shine, I meant shit. Not saying he shouldn't have flaws (the nerve of a teenaged guy to be actually decent!) but a complete 180 change all of a sudden seems far-fetched.

Friends to lovers trope is one of my faves, but only when a) written very well b) both are actually just friends and later on developed romantic feelings w each other c) the kind of friends who both have hidden romantic feeling for each other

But I stil wanted to find out how this one pans out, mostly because I know the author writes so well

J. F. C. The heroes are hopeless. All this wait and I wondered how the plot is going to spin into something that makes more sense. The truth? There's no getting back the great possibilities book 1 presented. Nada. Aaand this is my first read in a long time...shame, really. Huge. Fucking. Shame.

I thought I disliked Psyche only; I might feel a stronger feeling of dislike for Cupid. Bleh. Immortals sure are so fickle and immature. Yikes

Ironic. My first impression of Psyche was that of a young woman who, though possessing ethereal beauty like no other, only wanted an equal who would look past her bewitching exterior. And that impression implied that outward appearances should hold little to no value from the heroine. Shame, really. And honestly, very frustrating.

so basically...every single one of them is being unnecessarily difficult. on one hand, i keep reminding myself that as a new year reading resolution, i should let go of those ones that are in now way good for my sanity. but on another hand, it's just too fucking early to DNF. this impasse might just kill me.

Also. Big brothers are great and all (I don't have one. I am the big sister. I think it's just a general rule in my dictionary that older siblings are supposed to be great and so fucking cool) but Mason (and the likes) being not okay for his sister to be a stripper while it's ok for him to go with one is RICH.

I wish I could knock some sense into myself. I fucking need one. Badly.
Thus the kind of read that is bad for me, my stomach and acid level. But I still kept going because 1) I'm nutso 2) I want the guys to turn out different 3) I want to give moral and virtual support to the heroines
