I’ve really enjoyed this series, but this book so far has been less pleasant than the others due to Cat being useless, whiny and just generally annoying.

I feel like I’m missing something, is there a book I should’ve read before this? A lot of the world building and plot seems to be written in assumption of knowledge I feel I should possess but don’t.

I can’t do it, she’s literally the worst, how does this book have high ratings? She’s the dumbest (can’t take a hint, or use her brain) most annoying heroine I’ve read in awhile smh DNF

Lizzie is an absolute nightmare of a character - going to persevere for a few more chapters to see if she matures any

It IRRITATES the hell out of me when the hero walks all over the heroine & she just keeps accepting it and finding any scrap of affection (or making them up in her head) to justify why she's still around. If he says he isn't in to you, don't use the way he made eye contact with you a month ago for 5 seconds, be your proof he must actually be into you. Take him at face value until he man's up and admits his feelings.

I don't know why she's mad or confused about the way she's being treated when she's such a spoilt, entitled, rude little brat. I hope her character improves soon because she's annoying as hell.

I literally have no sympathy for Dayton. Sure, you're circumstances aren't ones you particularly like, but tough. Learn some basic respect for people that are only trying to help you in the only way they know how. Her immaturity is grating.

I am getting sick of reading stories with girls who constantly humiliate themselves over a guy they only just met. I don't care how many issues/tragedies a guy has going on secretly in his life, there's no reason for him to be so rude and physically aggressive. And the fact that she doesn't see anything wrong with his behaviour and still crawls back to him, practically begging for attention. Seriously. Get a clue.

I feel like everyone's making a big deal about how she left in the last book. Does no one remember she was drugged and under heavy surveillance and had an approximate 2 minute window to leave? Which was more important Ryder, that she stayed and got kidnapped so your feelings wouldn't be hurt, or that she ran while she could?

Her rebellion is getting ridiculous. Does she really not get that there will be consequences to people outside of herself, after all of her mothers warnings? Don't know why she's shocked when Nix turns on Ryder. Cool, Ryder sticks up for you, but your dealing with people way more powerful mate, get a clue.

Is anyone else getting annoyed at how dumb Derrick is? "Derrick again questioned his decision, hoping he hadn't made a mistake" oh because Katrina getting beat up and losing her innocence and happiness is defs what Janelle would've wanted for her Derrick you douche.

This is one of the worst, if not the worst, heroes (if you can call him that) I've ever read about. I don't understand why she cares for him in any way, shape or form. Even in books where the hero doesn't have the best first impression, you usually eventually see a better side to him. He does not have a better side.

All she had to do was go to her own house and have a serious talk with Victor first and I would've been 50x happier, but did she do that? Nooooooooo. No she didn't. If only Victor had one flaw. One measly flaw I could somehow twist into justification for the direction this book is taking.

When I see no significant progress occurring for a heroine throughout a book, I get angry. Every time Riyah is put into a situation in which she can show growth, she fails. Horribly. And now I'm at the scene of her final fight. And she has disappointed me terribly several times, that if she progresses any further (which I assume she does, as this is a series) I will have no idea why she does so.

It's ridiculous how annoyed I am at fictional characters, but they keep having THE EXACT SAME conversation every other page, like YES CHRISTINA, your husband DID just get back, but that doesn't change the fact that he said he's leaving!

I bought this book because it was getting great reviews and because the synopsis was interesting enough for me to give it a go. Unfortunately Christina is the most annoying character I've read about in a long time. Why do you need to cry and look disappointed every 5 seconds? Her pathetic and clingy behaviour is getting on my last nerve, and I'm halfway through the book and she's only getting MORE pathetic.

I'm at 90% of the book and I'm so frustrated I literally want to scream. The book is almost finished and she's been the most useless character in this entire book who makes the worst decisions! Seriously, she could at least have been useful at some other points throughout the book and grown as a character, instead of waiting around for a child to figure out how to save her.
