Beth is reading Trouble on the Books (Castle Bookshop Mystery #1)
I didn't finish, I really liked the premise of the story, the setting and characters.Id love to know the ending but I gave because of so many little continuity errors. I had to keep going back, wait wasn she just using a walker, a cane, now walking, make up your mind or leave it out. It not just a cute prop for people with mobir issues, wait didnt she pour the drink in the last paragraph. Which hair color??

I loved this book! I think it was even better than the first, Double Booked for Death, which was also good. There is a solid well constructed mystery, compassionate characters and a black bookshop cat. I stayed up till 3 am to finish it. No loose ends, good suspense. And did I mention an awesome black cat! 😊🐱

Beth is reading Falling in Love with Hominids
A great short story collection of speculative fiction by Nalo Hopkinson. There are positive roles for people of color and LGBT persons. You will meet street children living /hiding from a beast, a child with accelerated development, a highly tattooed orchid grower and a Salvation Army Santa Clause to name a few. I highly recommend this book.

REALLY good spy story. There is a lot of explicit torture and sex to get past bur the story is worth skimming those parts.

Such a wonderful modern take on Alice in Wonderland. I loved it. I didn't know it was part of a series when I started. I think the ending could stand alone but I look forward to reading the further adventures of the main characters.
