I'm looking at leaving Bezos/Goodreads and moving to StoryGraph. I'm importing my library there.

I really liked the beginning. I loved the writing style and prose. It certainly did get long-winded and so many times I wished Van Helsing would shut the hell up or die.
Overall decent but I won't be reading it again ever.

I'm almost done with my Kathy Reichs book. I read/have everything she's done. One of my favorite authors. But this has been pretty disappointing. Meanwhile, I'm dreaming of what book-world I want to live in next. History? Pulp? Gothic Romance? Kids/Young Adult? Western? Perry Mason?
It's one of my favorite things in life, to be carried away by a good writer and to "experience" a different world for a time.

After a great deal of studying web design last year, I'm looking forward to getting my nose stuck in books again!

Just finished one book and now going through my library to find another. This is one thing I love about reading. Choosing what world I'm going to live in for the next few days. Mystery? Adventure? Spy? Historical non-fiction? Biography? Young Adult? Western? Gothic Romance?
I will read anything. I am partial to some, but if I like it, I'll read it!

If you recommended one classic book to read, which would it be?

I have been wanting to read this book for years. It's one that's been on my shelf that I look at hungrily. Always wanting to read but always forget. To be fair, I have hundreds of books and the do get missed. Well, that and my tastes change. I may have a great line up of books to read in my head but what actually happens is a different story.
Just reading the preface and first few pages it seems to be a fun book.

I'm working temporarily as a security guard until I can find a better job/pay.
Fortunately, it allows me a wonderful amount of time to read on the job. We do a LOT ( I mean a LOT) of nothing.
But apparently I am the only one who reads. By the looks of it, I'm the only one AT ALL. They would much rather watch some streaming service.
Nope. Give me a good book and I am good.
