This book is well-written, but I can already tell there's going to be some misunderstanding/hidden trauma that keeps Audrey's mother closed off. And I'm doing my best to reconcile that kind of ending to the one I had *hoped* for -- an accurate representation of growing up with a narcissistic parent. It's so easy to slip into self-gaslighting with these types of narratives, as though *anything* could excuse abuse.

Much better written than I would have expected from the cover. :)
