Stopped on chapter 9. It’s an anthology of experiences during the WWII Japanese internment camps. I just couldn’t continue because I wouldn’t mesh with the writing style. A powerful message jumps out from what I’ve read so far. Hauntingly unfair and while eerily relatable even now.

It’s been awhile and it appears I’m not in any rush to finish this book (even though the ending is just around the corner). If I don’t care enough about the characters or the plot at this point I kind as well put this book down.

For me I’m guessing it is the writing style that I just couldn’t mesh with. Otherwise the premise was very interesting.

It was interesting at first. I was enjoying the mundane activities until there was a sudden 360 (I’m reminded of the Matrix). Otherwise we have a character on his way to becoming OP. The story just doesn’t seem exciting now but I’ll hold out just in case there is something that will change my mind.

Listening to the audio and I’m loving the story. Newer perspectives with stories I found more fascinating than when I was reading The Name All Things. Stakes are higher than ever and there is more action which helps the pacing of the book. I can’t believe I was pushing this book off since it’s release date. Haven’t found a dull moment yet.

Slow but interesting. Just waiting for that oomph factor.

Very romance driven than plot. While I was unsure of whether to continue or not I’ve decided that perhaps the series is just not for me. I enjoyed the first book but I just couldn’t get into the rest of the series.
