Mabel’s life id definitely totally opposite to mine. I still enjoy the way the booksis written.

I was bullied parially because I was smart, but it definitely didn’t start that early, nor would we just stand by and do nothing if it was that extreme…
My parents were definitely different than hers, though, there is no comparison.
She just seems to like to make extreme conclusions.

It’s interesting how her experiences are so much relatable in some ways and so much the opposite at the same time as mine from childhood. I didn’t have many friends, never a really close friend, but never no friends at all. Enjoyed our house and my room, but mine definitely was small.

The goal of an influencer is not to be lovable, and it is not to be unbearable. The goal is to be both at once. In other words: addicting.

It’s becoming stranger and stranger. Present day Natalie doesn’t say what she really means when she should. And she keeps making strange decisions.
And that woman in the past - how long will we wonder who she’s really supposed to be? Why does she keep running away without a plan in a way that definitely won’t work?…

I don’t care enough about the story to finish after book club.

I feel like I’m in a ballpit of jewels. Individually, they would be precious, but in this amount, I can’t distinguish them anymore.

So little is happening in the book, and the little that really does happen is buried in the beautiful poetic language.

I’m enjoying the poetic language. It makes regular life feel like something special.

Chrstian mother influencer. Interesting how she’s close to the chickens, but also yearns for the bone broth made from them.

Reading this for book club. If I had chosen it by myself, I would probably have dropped it now.
You don’t have to have sex in order to be enthralled by anatomy? I just don’t understand people for whom love doesn’t come first. In this first story, we didn’t get enough background information to understand at all how the main character became this way.

Lots of detailed tips. I’m learning a lot. I will refer back to this in the future.

Even more interesting than the cases to me are the drawings/paintings. I spent as much time looking at those as reading the stories.
