Glad they found William (I was worried about him, too, and looked ahead in the book for chapters titled with his name).
2 months in the hospital. He felt he had to stay away from Alice his daughter in order to keep her safe, so that his darkness wouldn’t swamp her light.

Sylvie mentions that she and all women were prey. In contrast to these tall men who can go anywhere.

When William disappeared, Sylvie was worried - that seems to make a lot of sense.
Julia wasn’t worried, she was kind of self-absorbed…

So he’s left his life because he’s confused and can’t figure out how to talk to his wife?

William has left Jilia? Why? I guess we might find out in the next chapter.

Julia has a baby, Alice. She feels like she can do anything. Sadly, her father Charlie who understood her best, has died. Her mother moved to Florida, they have short phone calls. William is a bit distant around Alice, like he’s afraid to hold Alice?

When the professor asled what William loved about the period in history he chose, why didn’t he say basketball?

So the title comes from what Charlie the father always said to the girls, including his wife, as a greeting. It seems like he was holding the family together, although Rose his wife was the one running the household etc. Is this family now falling apart like William’s? Was it all an illusion?

William has a girlfriend, Julia, and they’re going to marry.

Another book starting out with an awkward boy. This one with an interest in basketball. Both trying to figure out how thw orld works in their own way. This one by taking history classes in college…

The day father and son “visited” that other planet was cool too. I’m interested in exoplanets, too. Though it can be hard that the boy takes everything so seriously, it’s kind of refreshing, too, we as adults in fact often don’t take things seriously enough.

Exciting where the boy’s mind goes, wanting to paint all the endangered animals. I had thought that homeschooling might be a good solution way before it was mentioned in the book, the dad’s work schedule is the only problem…
I’m excited to continue reading, I will have to put the book on hold again.
