If I’m being honest I’m having a hard time keeping track of everyone and how the story is progressing. I’ve been enjoying the Szeth flashbacks. Adolin lost a leg, Renarin and Relain are dating. I’m completely lost on Dalinar, Shallon, and Navani. Not a clue what’s going on with them. I don’t think Jasnah has been super present so I think I’m good there. Hoping it will all come together for me soon.

Okay so Jamie is in prison, his brother Dougle might me dead, and Jenny killed a man by bashing his skull in with a rock (rightfully so).

Poor Jenny :( I couldn’t imagine living in a time where I couldn’t read first and foremost. But having people relentlessly fabricate things about you just because they have nothing better to do would be torture. On top of that her mom passing due to the stress of that situation and her own father believing what the gossips say about her is terrible. I couldn’t imagine not resenting your dad in that scenario.

I think this is set in the late 1600s or early 1700s but I believe our main character Jamie is a Scottish Loyalist and his Clan is currently unfortunately getting their butts handed to them by the Brits.

I don’t know why, but I don’t particularly care for Kaladin using therapy speak. I know that Kaladin is supposed to be righteous character in general, but hearing his inner monologue about Szeth kinda makes him sound self righteous. Maybe that is also because every person I’ve known who identifies as “the therapist friend” holds it over your head even when they haven’t helped as much as they think.

Dude poor Szeth :( Poor Molly. I would never condone murder but if I was young, someone barges into my house, eats my pet for dinner, and torments me?? Poor guy was traumatized by losing his pet and then traumatized again after killing that guy. He had every right to lose it.

Bruh so you’re telling me that Szeth is trying to just do his job so he can exit life permanently? Just get the job done and goodnight? I mean I guess I get it but dang.

Honestly pop off Szeth. I ain’t taking no advice from someone who doesn’t have things sorted themselves.

I’m sorry. What? Rock possibly being executed by his people? No bro idc we left off on Rock being reunited with his family and that’s it. He lives happily ever after. I’m chalking this up to Kaladin being a pessimist idc. Rock is happy and well fed and loved and that’s cannon. Idc idc.

Pattern being a sword and Testament being a shield is dope as heck. I think the only thing I’m confused on is did Shallon half separate from Veil? It seems they can talk, but not in the same way as Radiant. I fear I missed something.

I think Wit is my second favorite character of this series.

Him speaking his frustrations on the passions made a lot of sense. I think it summarized the error in most religions. Blaming individuals for things that are just luck, fate, or larger systems at work. So much in life is completely out of an individuals control. All outcomes are roughly 50% luck.

Welp I guess that’s on me officially giving up on Moash.

I didn’t realize how badly I needed a Dabbid chapter. I feel like Dabbid knowing that he’s not stupid was so meaningful. Also I vibe with Lyft heavy.

Idk why she would protest at killing these people. My only protest would be they didn’t suffer enough for killing my man.

I love that Adolin always makes such an effort to slay (outfit wise).

The main character has blamed her husband for the creepy atmosphere, his insomnia, his nightmares. She never heard him out when he mentioned feeling off and wanting to go back to their home because of her own selfish ambitions. She kissed another guy, her husband asks for a break, then divorce. Right after he asks for divorce she sleeps with said guy and her husband winds up dead because of this creepy town. So done.

I have the same issue with this book that I did with the marvelous miss maisel. However, in that show she had her parents that she always dumped the kids on. In this book she only has one kid, but solo parenting…I just don’t think it’s portrayed very realistically. Most solo parents don’t have time to drink, flirt, run a business, plan cute outfits, contact their ex, solve a mystery, and go to parties.

I’m happy that he gets a happy ending but I can’t believe we’re losing my boy Rock :,)

1. If the person who was in the bridge four jacket was Moash he’s officially in the bad boy corner cause wtf.
2. If anything happens to Rock or Lopen I no longer have any emotion invested in these characters.
3. Dalinar was the only light eyes I liked immediately. I should have known he was a bad husband.
4. WHAT is going on. Renarin has a bad spren? Is Jasnah gonna kill him?

I know Moash killed the king. That’s real bad. I just don’t think it’s possible for me to hate him. Every light eyed character I disliked at first and had to warm up to. But that’s bridge four. Also I lowkey don’t care about Szeth at all. But I can understand how someone would enjoy that. But I do not care at all. He’s an interlude character imo.

Everyone is wildly unsympathetic to Peter. And that’s makes sense except for his wife. Throwing things, combativeness, and anger aren’t good things Im not justifying that. But Billie is a bulldozer who only cares about what she wants. My husband was snippy when he started working overnight. And why tf is JaMiE always around. I hate it here.

Wit is the beach episode of characters in the best way possible lol

He’s resentful of your success??? Babe, he’s a therapist who just developed night terrors and insomnia. This isn’t about you. I wish this book had Peter’s POV. Also no hate, but if he was ever gonna be resentful of your success it would have been when you were a big shot in New York. You run a cafe in a tiny run down town. And Peter being upset about there being no book shop, IS VALID.

Okay… so our protagonists husband throws a glass during a fight and now we’re supposed to be okay with an affair???? I’m sorry, what??? YOU HAVE A CHILD, YOUR FRONTAL LOBE IS DEVELOPED, YOUR HUSBAND HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH IT. But no yah sure this is fine.
