The main character has blamed her husband for the creepy atmosphere, his insomnia, his nightmares. She never heard him out when he mentioned feeling off and wanting to go back to their home because of her own selfish ambitions. She kissed another guy, her husband asks for a break, then divorce. Right after he asks for divorce she sleeps with said guy and her husband winds up dead because of this creepy town. So done.

I have the same issue with this book that I did with the marvelous miss maisel. However, in that show she had her parents that she always dumped the kids on. In this book she only has one kid, but solo parenting…I just don’t think it’s portrayed very realistically. Most solo parents don’t have time to drink, flirt, run a business, plan cute outfits, contact their ex, solve a mystery, and go to parties.

1. If the person who was in the bridge four jacket was Moash he’s officially in the bad boy corner cause wtf.
2. If anything happens to Rock or Lopen I no longer have any emotion invested in these characters.
3. Dalinar was the only light eyes I liked immediately. I should have known he was a bad husband.
4. WHAT is going on. Renarin has a bad spren? Is Jasnah gonna kill him?

I know Moash killed the king. That’s real bad. I just don’t think it’s possible for me to hate him. Every light eyed character I disliked at first and had to warm up to. But that’s bridge four. Also I lowkey don’t care about Szeth at all. But I can understand how someone would enjoy that. But I do not care at all. He’s an interlude character imo.

Everyone is wildly unsympathetic to Peter. And that’s makes sense except for his wife. Throwing things, combativeness, and anger aren’t good things Im not justifying that. But Billie is a bulldozer who only cares about what she wants. My husband was snippy when he started working overnight. And why tf is JaMiE always around. I hate it here.

He’s resentful of your success??? Babe, he’s a therapist who just developed night terrors and insomnia. This isn’t about you. I wish this book had Peter’s POV. Also no hate, but if he was ever gonna be resentful of your success it would have been when you were a big shot in New York. You run a cafe in a tiny run down town. And Peter being upset about there being no book shop, IS VALID.

Okay… so our protagonists husband throws a glass during a fight and now we’re supposed to be okay with an affair???? I’m sorry, what??? YOU HAVE A CHILD, YOUR FRONTAL LOBE IS DEVELOPED, YOUR HUSBAND HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH IT. But no yah sure this is fine.

I know he basically betrayed our hero, but dude I feel really bad for Moash. My guy was wronged. He was upset about it. He was serving the man who he thought killed his family. I might have acted similarly in his position. I’m glad Kaladin did what he did to get Syl back, but I’m hoping there is some resolve for Moash.

I still love the Jasnah/Shallon dynamic. But she does have the superiority complex of her brother. However, it’s not infuriating because she is smart. Just a bit cold. However all characters I was put off by because of a strange light eyes superiority complex have developed (Adolin, Shallon, and even Elothkar)

Chapter 37 made me cry like a baby.

She killed her mom, her dad covered that up driving him to be an abusive control freak, she had to kill him by strangulation, her brother dies, she thinks it’s Amaram, finds out it’s Kaladin who she’s kinda allies with at this point. Her mentor died, and the people who killed her want her on their side. My girl can’t catch a break bro.

Obsessed with Sebarial and Palona. They do being rich RIGHT.

So I’m assuming Adolin is that 7 year old kid and Dalinars wife was the wife of the man he killed. I’m guessing the guilt is why he can’t remember.

Aight. Similar to Adolin, I might have been a bit harsh on Shallon. She’s just a kid and she’s been through a lot. She’s smart and interesting. I don’t get her sense of humor, but I think she’s just youthful. She’s probably gonna be a funny adult.

That’s good writing dude. I swear I didn’t care for Adolin much at all until just now. Didn’t dislike him just didn’t care. He seemed like such an average dude plopped into this crazy story. He actually has a personality and morals dude. Him protesting on kaladins behalf and still calling him bridge boy did make me chuckle lol.
