For whatever reason, this one didn’t really click for me. Could be the format, which I don’t dislike, but I just didn’t connect in a big way. Will still be looking forward to reading some more from Adam. Def see the Our Town comparisons

3 1/2 stars. Pretty enjoyable if you can release yourself from the expectation that it’ll be a follow up to the crucible. This is a story about forgiveness and religion, there are no ties to the original red scare theme. Not perfect, but some lovely passages. I’m not sure I agree that this is how Abigail would have turned out, and the lore additions are maybe questionable, but indeed still an interesting read.

Feels very Ottessa Moshfegh in its bleak nihilism. Having worked many times in the Hamptons, I know these people, and Emma pegged them square on the nose. I enjoyed!

OCD gang rise up

I did not finish this book. I will not be finishing it. This is a very rare occurrence for me. I usually wouldn’t log a book I didn’t finish, but I read over half of it and am just so horrified by the content, I can’t do it.

I’m not here to say that this is a poorly written or ineffective book. It’s simply too exploitative and horrifying to me. I don’t want to fill my head with any more of its content.

Good read, I enjoyed. I’d like to do the play. 4 1/2 Stars
