Well written but I’m getting kinda annoyed with all the excuses the author is making for every single example of Cobain’s shit behaviour

I need to stop buying/reading books like this because I always end up angry. This is so simplified that it’s insulting reader’s intelligence, quotes outdated sources (Gibbon) and is written for American eyes because it can’t help itself but mention either WW2, Syria, Bush, Dick Cheney, etc. every few pages (mind you, the first chapter is about Ancient Rome and Germanic tribes)

Ohh Godd such a pathetic, cheesy, rushed ending, truly perfect for this mess. I haven’t been this happy to give something 1 star in a long time

Fumbling big moments like the death of Hector and the grief of Achilles, where the work was pretty much already cut out for her, show what a weak writer Miller is, more than even her flowery writing style.

She made Patroclus a main female character in a YA novel. If I say more I’ll be in trouble
