I'm not surprised that I'm really enjoying this book; I love Neil Gainman. I suppose I should have heeded the title though, because I've had to take breaks between some of the stories. "The Man Who Forgot Ray Bradbury," just hit me right in the "feels." I need to take a break and read some fluff and/or smut before I dive back in. These stories pack a punch and leave the reader with a lot to think about.

So far this is a really interesting read, part western, part fairytale, part Lovecraftian horror.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to finish this. So far, everything I've read is terribly grating. It's supposed to be a historical fiction, but the heroine is written like a modern day feminist thrown back in time, she's seeing the world through a very modern perspective. Her antics thus far are annoying and silly. All of the characters I've been introduced to, one dimensional.

I decided to sync my Kindle iPhone app and discovered a wondrous surprise waiting for me! Don't you love it when you pre-order a book and then promptly forget that you have? It's like slipping into a jacket that you haven't worn in months and discovering twenty bucks in the pocket!

MacLeod's writing reminds me of my British grandfather & makes me feel strangely homesick, (for a homeland that isn't truly mine but which I embrace nonetheless). The pages are so packed with Englishie goodness that I feel "at home" here. I've gotten to the bit where the dark nature of this alternate version of Britain is coming to light. The familiar setting makes these revelations much more upsetting....
