Avery Berman is finished with Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1)
I usually read at school or in my bedroom. I usually read around 5-6 hours a day. And I read about maybe a thousand pages each night. I prefer to read fantasy books and mythological. I usually get my books from iBooks. My family reads a lot as well, but don't always have as much time as I do to read.

This story is all about being happy with the gifts that were given to you and accepting who you are. Mary constantly struggled with being misunderstood and judged all her life. At the end, she finally was able to begin to accept herself and be happy.

"Not violent, not gory, really not scary, but a nice story about a special, misunderstood girl with something of an attitude." This perfectly explains Scary Mary. This is all about a girl trying to accept her powers and do what she wants with her life. There is nothing truly scary about this book, except for the bloodthirsty, physcopathic ghost. There is no gore, and there is no true violence.

Overall I just hate the entire series. Sure she doesn't have to trust everybody, but they are all trying to help keep HER safe, risking THEIR lives, and yet all she does is whine, complain, or try and kill everybody. I kind of wish that they ended up dumping her someplace and let her fend for herself. She'd probably not know how to care for herself because she'd be too busy whining about everything.

I was actually rooting for the bad guy to kill her just so he could shut up her whining and her rude, annoying comments to everybody. I suffered through the first book and though, " maybe she will be better in the second book." And I was right for a while. She was nicer and more humble to the others. Until one guy says something only a little rude and she freaks out and almost kills him, like, anger issues much?

I absolutely hated this series. The main character Sienna was selfish, rude, and just a plain idiot. Just because she was locked in a box all the time doesn't mean she has to be such a jerk to everyone. And yet, she acts as if what she is doing is justified and that everyone is just overreacting. SHE KILLED LIKE FIVE OF THEIR TEAMMATES. And yet she acts as if they all hate her for no reason.

I absolutely love this book. It is the third installment of the series and the ending was perfect, although a little sad. Agatha is finally happy and so is Sophie. I felt that the plot twists and character builds were very good and made me feel as if all this could have actually happened although it didn't because it would be all over the news and if there was a school and a whole big war it would be everywhere.

I do not think that this story relates to the author. Theses five kids that are doing amazing things with their powers don't seem to me like the author is relating their characters to herself. She is very athletic and works out a lot and is creative and has a lot of energy. These kids just seem like some normal, non athletic, normal high school kids.

This book is very exciting. I like how the characters all seem so realistic and true. Their fear and their reactions are all so pure and normal. In some books, the characters are confident and witty and smart and no one likes the main character like that. We like someone that is the underdog and continues to go above and push through. That is why I love the characters for this book.

This book has a dark setting. A creepy mine that was abandoned and is left with traces of uranium that killed some miners. The setting sets the mood into a dark, scary plot. There is a lot of rain, which is a symbol that something must be sad or something bad is going to happen. And it is also night, where a lot of "evil" things are found. The setting really darkens the mood of the plot and makes it very interesting.

The author does not use a lot of direct characterization to show the personalities of the characters. She uses a lot of actions and quotes that show the characters throughout the book. Occasionally J.K. Rowling does use direct characterization but mostly sticks to indirect characterization to explain her characters.

I find that the ending of this book is quite down and depressing. It was a beautiful ending. But a sad, tragic one. Violet had found happiness. She had met Finch, fell in love with him, and was happy. For once, after her sisters death, she was happy. And her parents completely ruined it for her. They thought he was reckless, a bad role model and a good for nothing boy that would break their daughters heart.
